Please enjoy this month’s seven recent videos that deserve watching. As usual, they vary from funny to bizarre to breathtaking. You’ll find that, in most cases, thousands of others have felt the same way. So take a look at the latest installment of Videos You Just Have to See!
1 – World’s Largest Rube Goldberg machine
A team of engineers broke its own world record for the largest functional Rube Goldberg machine, and this video shows it all go down as 300 steps lead to the final task, blowing up and popping a balloon.
2 – Celebrity? Not Quite
Excitement surrounding The Hunger Games might have made it a bit easier to pull off this social experiment at a mall in Virginia. Using his real first and middle name, Thomas Elliot and his cohorts convinced dozens that he was a celebrity who starred in the blockbuster film, with people taking photos with him, getting his autograph, and Tweeting about it.
3 – Caine’s Arcade
By now, chances are you have at least heard about Caine’s Arcade. If you haven’t, it’s time to find out what all the excitement is about. On April 9th, a 9-year-old’s cardboard arcade went from obscurity to national TV and this short film is the reason why. It’s a touching, well-done, beautiful story, which continues to unfold online with the 9-year-old getting more attention than he ever imagined.
4 – 7-Year-Old Girl Wows With Adele Cover
Fitri Cerado is the 7-year-old winner of a TV talent show in Indonesia. From the sound of it, this girl will be a star around the world. Her cover of Adele’s “Someone Like You” is beautifully played (she plays the piano), but even more impressively sung. The set of pipes on this young girl are unreal.
5 – Henri, the French cat
This clever, funny short film about a French cat will have you in stitches. It’s purrrfect.
6 – Baseball-sized Hail
Earlier this month in Woodward, Oklahoma, hail the size of baseballs fell from the sky. Take a look at this video showing the hail falling to Earth and check out the daring (or dumb?) pedestrian walking down the street with these potentially deadly balls of ice falling all around.
7 – Video Game Planets
This smart, well-animated and stylistically cool short film tests your video game knowledge. Do you think you can name all 20 video games? Give it a shot.
