Storm Restoration Under Way for Alabama Customers

The count is staggering: at least 184 people killed in Alabama alone. Sixty-six tornados tore through the state and one estimate shows that one of those tornados could have been on the ground for 176 miles with winds speeds from 167 to 200 miles per hour. The damage will surely run into the hundreds of millions of dollars but no price tag can be put on the sheer heartbreak being felt by so many victims.

Bright House employees share the devastation of their home.

Bright House Networks has gone into full emergency response mode. Hundreds of our employees are working around the clock to restore vast service areas ranging from Birmingham to Montgomery. Many of our dedicated crews are voluntarily working despite the fact their own homes have been damaged or even destroyed.

At this point, we are aware of at least 30,000 of our customers who have been affected by the storms’ brutal march. The vast majority of the problems stem from the destruction of the power grids across the state. The last estimate showed more than 340,000 people without electricity.

Bright House Networks is also bringing in crews from outside the state to help assess and repair the destruction left behind by the storms. But because of the widespread nature of the damage, bringing our customers back online will take time.

We are here to help and our lines are open. We are doing all that we can to restore TV, Internet and Home Phone services, and will continue to work until the job is complete.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of these storms.
