As part of our commitment to support local afterschool programs, we had a great turnout at our annual Bright House Networks Day at the Pittsburgh Pirates Spring Training game benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County. More than 6,000 fans attended and a portion of each ticket purchased was donated to the clubs. As a result, the event raised nearly $15,000 for kids in afterschool programming.
During each inning, there were prize baskets that included lots of goodies and tickets from our local community partners, including The South Florida Museum, The Asolo Repertory Theatre, MOTE Marine Laboratory & Aquarium, The Manatee Players, tickets to the Ribfest donated by 13th Avenue Dream Center and more. For the grand prize drawing, a leather sofa was donated by Furniture Warehouse. In addition to the prizes, fans also enjoyed getting player autographs.
This year’s attendance nearly doubled since 2011 and on behalf of The Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County, we are incredibly appreciative to all who participated in Bright House Networks Day. We hope to see you all there in 2013!
