Scholarship Program in Memory of David Logan

Bright House Sports Network is inviting high school seniors who excel in academics and athletics to apply for the David Logan Scholarship. Established in January of 1999, the scholarship is granted in the memory of David Logan, a former NFL player and sportscaster.

East Bay High School 2011 Scholarship Recipient Cathy Hocken

David was the original anchor of “Sports Connection” on Bay News 9, and was known for his dedication to his family, community, and sports. His virtues and work ethic led him to success on multiple platforms, and provided him with the opportunity to be a leader in the community. In his honor, each recipient will receive a $2,500 scholarship that is meant to assist the seniors as they move onto college and further their academic and athletic careers.

Each year the scholarship is awarded each year to four high school seniors, one male and one female, in both Tampa Bay and Central Florida. Eligible students must have a grade point average of 3.5 on a four-point scale, have participated in athletics, and have attended a high school within the Bright House Sports Network viewing area. The scholarship will be presented by a BHSN anchor at the school’s annual award ceremony. Applications must be postmarked by February 29, and received by today (March 5).
