Lights On Afterschool Photo Contest

Bright House Networks has teamed up with the Afterschool Alliance to shine a spotlight on the afterschool programs that keep our kids safe, inspire learning and help working families everywhere.

This year, a record-breaking 9,300 Lights On Afterschool events were held around the country this month to celebrate afterschool programs and young people. Friends of afterschool, including parents and children, sent more than 600 emails and phone calls to Members of Congress and also signed a petition in support of afterschool, and now more than 10,900 individuals have signed on to urge that funding for afterschool programs should not be denied or diverted.

Bright House Networks and the Afterschool Alliance want to see the evidence!  Bright House Networks is sponsoring a Lights On Afterschool photo contest on Facebook, and awarding cash prizes for the photos that best depict how programs and people are shining a light on afterschool. We can’t wait to see what you come up with to celebrate Lights On Afterschool.  GET READY, SET, SHINE!

How To Participate:

STEP 1: Until Wednesday, October 31, submit photos on Facebook from your Lights On Afterschool events. Photos can be of events, people, places or anything related to Lights On Afterschool, and must include a caption that describes the photo and how they are celebrating afterschool.

STEP 2: Starting November 1, vote on Facebook for your favorite photos. The three top photos will each receive $1,000 to support their favorite afterschool program—and one $2,000 Grand Prize award will be given to the top photo in Bright House Networks’ viewing area!
