Hispanic Business Initiative Fund of Florida

Bright House Networks has joined forces with members of the Hispanic community in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Here is a guest post from Rosalina Stober about the Hispanic Business Initiative Fund (HBIF) of Florida.

Are you planning to start a business?  Do you already own one?  If so, the Hispanic Business Initiative Fund of Florida (HBIF) may be just the resource for you.

For more than 22 years, HBIF has been the leading nonprofit economic development organization in Florida that specializes in providing free bilingual business development services to Hispanic and Brazilian entrepreneurs trying to establish or expand their business.

HBIF business consultants meet with you to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to existing or prospective business and to address its short and long-term needs.  In addition, HBIF offers entrepreneurial education and a unique business grant program.

For those who are in the process of starting a business, HBIF’s orientation session in Spanish, “Estrategias Exitosas para Nuevos Negocios,” provides all the basic information and resources you need. Topics include legal and accounting structures, licenses and permits, state regulations and financing options.

HBIF also offers a Hispanic Business Workshop Series in Spanish that provides training on specific topics that assist entrepreneurs in making critical decisions needed to become successful.  Upcoming topics include selling your product or service, import and export, and branding.

HBIF subcontracts business and marketing consultants, attorneys, accountants and Web developers that can help businesses with a variety of services, including accounting, marketing, branding and legal, among many others.

Just like the Hispanic community, demand for HBIF’s services is growing exponentially.  In the last year alone, HBIF provided one-on-one business consulting to more than 1,100 business owners.  More than 4,000 attended HBIF’s Spanish-language education programs.  And during the same time, HBIF awarded nearly $200,000 in entrepreneurial grants to more than 150 business owners.

Keep these services in mind as you move forward with your business.  To register for a seminar or to schedule an appointment with an in-house business development specialist, call 407-428-5872 or visit www.HBIFFlorida.org.

HBIF currently has offices in Orlando, Kissimmee, Tampa, and Miami.
