It was a very happy conclusion to the holiday season and start to the New Year for the House of Love and Mercy in Tallassee, Alabama, right outside of Birmingham as Bright House Networks employees presented the facility a check for $10,000 as part of its 12 Days of Giving campaign on January 6.
Established in 2001, House of Love and Mercy is a small Christian “home away from home” that helps women of color or race to get back on their feet. Its mission is to help every woman, no matter their problem, to become self-sufficient, build self-esteem, and realize that they can be successful in whatever they desire to do.
Bright House Networks’ 12 Days of Giving campaign was designed to support charitable organizations in its local communities that are focused on helping the military, homeless, hungry and children. During the 12 days, which ran from December 1-12, Bright House Networks posted a different picture of an item in need on its Facebook page. The items ranged from razors for military personnel to baby formula and diapers for children. For every person who shared the photo of the day, Bright House Networks committed to donate that same number of items to a charity in each of its local communities. The charity with the most shares received an additional $10,000 donation on behalf of Bright House Networks and its giving customers.
