For You and Your iPad – Bright House TV app is Here!

So you have an iPad and you’ve found some pretty cool apps to download. As a matter of fact, you’ve probably found yourself using the iPad for more than just games. You may be in your garage downloading the latest ‘how-to fix it’ app, in the kitchen searching for a new Thanksgiving recipe or out on the porch listening to some tunes. In our home, we love the convenience of grabbing the iPad and sitting out on the porch or patio, especially this time of year in Florida with the cooler temps.

And now, with the Bright House TV app for iPad, we can turn our iPad into a TV in any room of our home. We downloaded the app over the weekend and found ourselves using it on the patio, in the kitchen, and even rooms with TVs. While some family members were watching the game on the HD big screen, I got to check out the latest episode of my guilty pleasure reality show, live and in HD on the iPad – with all of us sitting in the same room. Later, while in the kitchen trying to figure out what to make for dinner, I tapped on the Cooking Channel and found a cool recipe I was able to prepare while watching.

The Bright House TV app is now available to download and FREE to Bright House Networks customers who subscribe to Digital Basic or higher TV service. In addition, you’ll need High Speed Internet Service, a wireless connection, a My Services account and of course, an iPad.

You can download the Bright House TV app from Apple’s iTunes store – http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bright-house-tv/id467135700?mt=8.

Once the app is downloaded, you can access Bright House TV directly from the iPad’s touchscreen by tapping the icon and entering your My Services username and password.

Download it today and tell us in which rooms you are now watching your favorite shows.

  1. Downloaded the TV app and did not work. Tried it a second time and still did not work. Tried on another iPad and same result. Does it work or not? Yes, I do have an account, digital tv service and modem.

    • Hi David – i’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing some difficulty with the Bright House TV app. A representative from our Customer Care team will be in touch with you very soon, if they haven’t already reached out to you. Thanks for reading House2House!

  2. Do you have any idea when we will have the big “3″ ABC< NBC< CBS? on our iPad?

    • That’s a good question. No specific timing on when those channels will be added right now. We are constantly adding new programming to the lineup, so stay tuned and thanks for reading!

  3. Would like to see this on android. Not EVERYONE has an apple product!

    • Hi Brad – I understand and we have an Android at home as well. We’ll keep you posted on any plans to offer programming on Android or other devices/tablets.

  4. I installed the app. But it doesn’t work. I have brighthouse, I have wifi, I don’t have a my services account, what is it how do I get it. Thanks Steve.

    • Hi Steve – Thanks for stopping by and downloading the app. Getting a My Services account is the easy part – visit brighthouse.com/myservices and register your account; you’ll need your account number when you register. Once you’ve registered, be sure to check out all the other services, apps and online TV programs you’ll have access to with a My Services account. Let me know how it goes.

  5. When will we be able to get volume without headphones?

    • Hi Karen – the volume issue you may be referring to has come up time to time from others and its actually something that we cannot directly control. The issue is related to the side switch on the iPad and if it is set to mute (the red dot is showing). This switch also controls rotation lock, depending how the user has configured functionality in settings.

      For issues with the volume:

      - Check the switch, make sure the red dot is not showing
      - If the red dot is not showing, go into settings, and change side switch from lock screen to mute
      - Flick side switch to red dot, then back
      - Restart app
      - If this doesn’t work, re-install app

Please let me know if this helps and works.

  6. Ok – did it again and now it’s working. Totally had to do with the little red button on the side of the ipad. Glad I didn’t fall for the $38 + $5 month false information.

    • Hi Pam – I’m glad to hear that the sound settings are now working for you. Thanks for chatting with us on House2House and enjoy the Bright House TV app!
