Did you see the MTV Video Music Awards? Beyonce’s baby bump was the most talked about news of the event! The big news reminded me of how life changes so quickly when planning a family. Prior to the big day moms-to-be and their families welcome their little ones into the world, there’s a lot of talk about what you need to know. With that in mind, here are some popular parenting sites (in no particular order) that may be helpful, interesting and at times, entertaining, as you prepare your family to grow by two feet or more:
1. Cafe Mom – “Conversation, advice, friendship and entertainment before baby arrives and after.” This site was recently featured in Time’s 50 Best Websites of 2011.
2. Baby Center – The go-to site for expecting moms and dads. The weekly emails alone will keep you coming back. This site has been recognized by the Webby Awards as one of the Best Family & Parenting Sites.
3. Parenting – To help “navigate every stage of life with children.” Most of us are familiar with the magazine and you may even receive a subscription as a gift if you’re getting ready to have a baby.
4. WebMD/parenting – The Accredited Health website offers “expert parenting advice for every age and stage of your child’s life.” In my experience, I spent more time with doctors and nurses when I was expecting than I ever had before. The same goes once the baby arrives with doctor visits and questions.
5. The Bump – The Bump is “everything you need to know during pregnancy.” For the really ambitious, you can even create your own baby website to share with family and friends. The Bump’s has two siblings — The Knot and The Nest which are popular sites when you’re getting married and buying a home.
