Indianapolis Colts at New Orleans Saints
Sunday 8:20 PM, NBC
The great match-up that brings Peyton Manning… oh yeah, he’s hurt. Curtis Painter is in for the Colts, and he is killing me and Dallas Clark in fantasy football. Also seriously impaired is Reggie Wayne. Pierre Garcon has been the beneficiary of a lot of added workload so congrats if you drafted him. For the Saints, the great Drew Brees lines up under center, and hopes to make up for almost costing me the game last week with that late interception against the Buccaneers. If you can trade for Jimmy Graham, do it. Brees can’t stop throwing to him, it’s like he isn’t even looking at anyone else on the field. That will drive you crazy if you have Marques Colston. Delonte Carter could be considered a sleeper if your opponent is in Bye Week misery and is forced to play him. You should suggest it to them. Look for the Saints to edge out a victory against an under the radar Colts team that seems to be hanging in games more than people give them credit for. Prediction: Saints 27, Colts 21.
Baltimore Ravens at Jacksonville Jaguars
Monday 8:30 PM, ESPN
The Baltimore Ravens (aka original Cleveland Browns) and NFL stalwart Jacksonville Jaguars square off in an odd choice for a Monday Night game. On paper this looks to be a pretty easy win for the Ravens, but look again. Maurice Jones-Drew looks to be back to form and Mike Thomas has caught an impressive 27 balls this year. The Sleeper in this game for your Monday Night Misery party, waiting until 12:15 am on Tuesday to find out you lost, is Torrey Smith. After having 3 TD’s in his first game, the only place to go was down. Many owners have abandoned him to the waiver wire, and if Lee Evans is still out, make sure you give him a look. This game shouldn’t be close, but I have a feeling the Jaguars will come out and play well on the national stage. Prediction: Jaguars 17, Ravens (Original Browns) 14.
Is there anyone I forgot to mention that you think is going to have a big game?
Our very own, Joe Harmer, answers – ”Maybe Mark Ingram? Colts don’t stop the run.”
Anyone else?
