Today in Central Florida, Bright House Networks presented a check for $10,000 to the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida as a result of the 12 Days of Giving campaign.
The Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida was created in 1987 and is now the largest provider of homeless services in Central Florida. Their mission is to address the needs of the homeless in the community and to serve as a catalyst for community collaboration to end homelessness.
Bright House Networks has a long history of support for the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida. In 2001, the downtown Orlando facility of the Coalition for the Homeless became one of our first “PowerUP” program clients, installing no-cost high-speed Internet service to the Coalition’s computer lab, which serves the nation’s only Boys & Girls Club chapter at a homeless shelter, and is also used by adult clients for job searches and computer literacy training. In addition, Bright House is a major sponsor of the annual Doug Spencer Golf Challenge fund raiser for the Coalition, which raised more than $64,000 this year.
As we continue to support organizations like the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, Bright House Networks’ 12 Days of Giving campaign is proud of the overwhelming support received to give back to charitable organizations in its local communities that are focused on helping the military, homeless, hungry and children. During the 12 days, which ran from December 1-12, Bright House Networks posted a different picture of an item in need on its Facebook page. The items ranged from razors for military personnel to baby formula and diapers for children. For every person who shared the photo of the day, Bright House Networks committed to donate that same number of items to a charity in each of its local communities. The charity with the most shares received an additional $10,000 donation on behalf of Bright House Networks and its giving customers.
