Dance Kingdom Program is a New Dance Show for Students

A new dance show premiering on Bright House Networks On Demand has students singing and dancing for joy—as they do well in school and learn character-building lessons.

Called Dance Kingdom, the 30-minute musical dance show likens its approach to classic youth-oriented shows such as “Soul Train” and “American Bandstand,” with a twist: To be part of Dance Kingdom, you have to make good grades, stay out of trouble, and be chosen by judges in a challenging audition format.

Hosted by Florida commercial hip-hop sensation “Tiger the Hopeboy” who will introduce the aspiring student talent, Dance Kingdom produced 13 shows in its inaugural season that started this month on Tampa Bay on Demand and Central Florida on Demand. Each show will feature music artists between the ages of 12 – 19 selected from high school and middle schools who participate in an audition process and who meet the academic and character requirements. The performing students who are selected will be given the opportunity to co-host, sing, rap, dance and give a “shout out” to their respective schools.

“Our mission is to utilize the influence of music and television production to entertain, educate and empower people around the world,” said Don Fryson, founder and chairman of 360 Entertainment International, an Orlando-based company that created Dance Kingdom. “360 Entertainment International seeks to promote Hip Hop, R&B, Rock, Salsa, Reggae-ton, Merengue, and many other forms of musical expressions.”

Word has spread quickly among aspiring student artists, with more than 25,000 Twitter followers already paying close attention to the latest news @DanceKingdomTV.

Stay tuned as the 13 Dance Kingdom shows planned for 2013 begin airing this month on Central Florida on Demand channel 300 and Tampa Bay on Demand channel 340. It will also be on Bakersfield on Demand channel 300, Birmingham On Demand channel 244, Detroit on Demand channel 123 and Indianapolis on Demand channel 244.

And as the high school artists are selected and perform, there’s another big opportunity, as well: Top performers will be eligible to perform in a “SWAG: Students Who Achieve Greatness” concert tour planned for later this year.
