City of Hope Concert Highlights Local Talent and Promotes a Spirit of Community

As part of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday observances, the “Negro Spiritual” Scholarship Foundation (www.negrospiritual.org) presents “City of Hope,” a musical program that promotes a spirit of community with music and other offerings by artists and performers from throughout the city of Orlando. The free concert is at 7 p.m. tonight, Friday, Jan. 18, 2013. It will be held at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Institutional Church at 535 East Washington Street in Orlando.

The event is supported by the city of Orlando and Mayor Buddy Dyer’s “Orlando MLK” Mayor’s Martin Luther King, Jr., Commission (www.mlkorlando.com). Bright House Networks, one of the largest sponsors of the “Negro Spiritual” Scholarship Foundation, will be filming the event so it can be shown on Central Florida on Demand, channel 300 in the Orlando area.
